Columbia Sportswear Men's Steens Mountain Sweater

Columbia Sportswear Mens Steens Mountain Sweater
Columbia Sportswear Mens Steens Mountain Sweater

The Columbia Steens Mountain Sweater for men is made from super-soft and warm polyester MTR Fleece for quick-drying, non-pilling performance. The Radial Sleeve design eliminates restrictions and tugging that occur in the shoulders of ordinary jackets, and a drawcord hem allows you to adjust the bottom fit.
Rugged looks combined with a soft and comfortable feel describes the Steens Mountain Sweater by Columbia Sportswear. The polyester MTR (Maximum Thermal Retention) fleece means its easy to clean, quick drying, and pill resistant. All in all, a lightweight zip-front sweater thats designed to pack away in a corner of your suitcase for weekends or entire weeks in the snow and elements. With radial sleeves and a drawcord hem, you wont be afraid to give it your all on a snowboard or the slalom course. Layer it under a windbreaker for cool evening strolls.

About Columbia Sportswear
Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the worlds largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of ski-wear in the United States. Columbias extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company.

Columbias history starts with Gerts parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that, it wasnt long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60-year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbias successful and popular advertising campaign.

The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.

The correct EST (Eastern Standard Time) has been preset at the factory, so just plug the clock in and adjust the time zone as necessary. In the case of a power interruption, the built-in Lithium battery maintains the correct time so you dont have to re-set the clock. When Daylight Savings Time changes take place in the spring and fall each year, there is no need to adjust the clock because the built-in calendar recognizes the dates and automatically makes the proper time adjustments. Choose your own snooze time instead of being held captive by the short time intervals of other snooze times. Each press of the snooze button adds an additional 10 minutes to your total snooze time for up to a full hour of uninterrupted sleep. Plenty of new television series need a season or two to sort themselves out, and as this three-disc, 13-episode (plus bonus features) box set from the second season (2007) reveals, the Sci-Fi Channels Eureka is still a work in progress--which is not a bad thing, considering that its one of the more provocative and ambitious shows out there. For the uninitiated, heres the basic premise: Sheriff Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson), accompanied by his teenage daughter Zoe (Jordan Hinson), is stationed in Eureka, a picturesque little burg somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. Eureka is hardly Anytown, USA indeed, this is the place where "the worlds greatest thinkers" live and work, most of them at Global Dynamics, "the most advanced scientific facility in the world." Its also a place where exceedingly strange things happen on a regular basis. In Season Two, those happenings include people spontaneously combusting, becoming invisible, turning into gold, or simply disappearing (and leaving nothing behind--not even a memory that they ever existed) a "personal force field" thats growing so large and so fast that it will soon engulf the whole town, and maybe even the whole world freaky weather that changes by the moment and even an experiment to re-create the Big Bang inside a Global Dynamics lab, leading to some unexpected side effects.

These developments are all presented with enough cool special effects and scientific techno-babble to make Eureka a perfectly viable and sometimes quite dramatic science fiction diversion. But theres more--much more. Sometimes this is a show about relationships: Jack and Zoe (custody becomes an issue when Jacks ex, played by Olivia DAbo, shows up in the early episodes) Jack and Allison Blake (Salli Richardson), Global Dynamics new boss (their growing attraction is complicated by the continued presence of her ex, a genius scientist type) Jack and his pal Henry (Joe Morton), who blames Jack for his girlfriends death but gradually learns theres more to it than that. Much of the time its a comedy, heavy on the quirks and, in a change from the first year, its also a serial, with several story arcs continuing over the course of the season. All of that can make Eureka a but convoluted and hard to get a handle on, but this show is a keeper. Extensive bonus features include deleted scenes, gag reels, podcast commentaries, and a good deal more. --Sam Graham
